Manchester United midfield player Adnan Januzaj is wanted by Spanish champions FC Barcelona, according to reports in the Daily Mail.

The highly rated young Belgium-born star really caught the eye on Saturday when making his full Premier League debut for the Red Devils against struggling Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, with Januzaj’s stunning second-half brace helping to turn the match around in the visitors’ favour.

It is understood that United will soon be preparing a new deal for the wide man in order to ward off interest in Januzaj from a whole host of big-name clubs across the continent, something the player’s agent recently alluding to.

“I’m not going to say which teams are interested in him, but I can tell you that there is interest from several European clubs,” said Januzaj’s representative Dirk de Vriese last week.

Januzaj moved to the north-west giants from Belgium outfit Anderlecht in March 2011 as a 16-year-old, however, the winger has been forced to wait until this season under new United head coach David Moyes to be handed his first-team debut at the club.

However, it is now thought that the Liga giants are planning on taking advantage of the current uncertainty surrounding the 18-year-old’s future with the Premier League champions by signing Januzaj when his present contract at Old Trafford runs out in June 2014.
