Victor Valdes: My Time At Barcelona Is Over And I Want A New Challenge

Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes has reminded club chiefs that he still intends on leaving the club when his contract expires at the end of the current season, the Mirror reports.

Valdes, who has been with the Catalan giants for his entire career has also expressed his desire to seek a fresh challenge away from Spain as he hopes to find a new club overseas.

With six Primera Division titles under his belt during his time with Los Cules, Including three Champions League crowns he has also picked up quite the haul of silverware, and has played a vital role in the club’s rise to the top of the European game.

Several of his club colleagues, including Andres Iniesta, have stated that will do their best in attempting to persuade the 31-year-old to stay beyond his current deal, but he has reiterated his desire to make an exit by insisting that they are all wasting their breath.

“My time here is done,” the goalkeeper told Spanish television channel Antena3.

“They offered me the chance to renew [my contract] but my decision had been made.

“I am seeking new challenges. I want to play in another league and be with my family in another place.

“But this season I have still been feeling the love and support of the people and that is greatly appreciated.”
