Arsenal Plan Bid for Bayern Munich Attacker This Week

Emirates Stadium side push on with move for youngster.

Arsenal will reportedly make an offer for Bayern Munich starlet Xherdan Shaqiri this week according to Tribalfootball.

Arsene Wenger will approach the Bundesliga side with a view to finding out if the young Swiss international is available and if so, how much the Allianz Arena club expect to garner from his sale.

The 21 year old attacker completed his move to Bayern Munich last summer but has thus far struggled to retain a prominent role in the Bundesliga side’s starting eleven and as such it’s perhaps unsurprising that he would be attracting interest from prospective suitors.

The former FC Basel man started just 13 Bundesliga fixtures last term and made just one start in Bayern Munich’s Champions League winning campaign. Thus far this season this trend has continued with Pep Guardiola using the speedy winger sparingly.

The pint sized wide-man may well therefore be considering his options, fearful that he could end up warming the bench in the long term under Guardiola and knowing all too well that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is a manager who trusts to youth.

Shaqiri is perhaps ideally suited to a move to join the North London side, comfortable on the ball and a player who has an eye for goal though is also more than able to weigh in with a large number of assists.
