Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew is lining up an £8m bid for young Blackpool winger Tom Ince, according to the Mirror.

Pardew has finally been given the nod to go ahead and draw up a shortlist of players he would like to bring to the club and he will now go up against Everton boss Roberto Martinez, who also remains keen to take him away from Bloomfield Road after some initial interest during the summer transfer window.

The Toon boss knows Ince’s value is now fixed and, although it is more than they would like to pay, the fee is well within his budget.

Ince rejected a move to Premier League new boys Cardiff City over the summer, citing personal reasons for his decision to stay with the Championship club, but Pardew has ordered his Director of Football Joe Kinnear to act fast and make an attractive offer before somebody else jumps in.

Everton boss Martinez had already tried to bring him on board whilst at Wigan, and could go in for him again should he free up some room within the Toffees squad (and bank account), something that Ince has reportedly told pals would be ideal as he still has a home in Merseyside.
