Manchester United manager David Moyes has given his backing to young stars Angelo Henriquez and Jesse Lingard to come back even stronger when they eventually return from their loan spells away from the club, the Daily Star reports.

The Premier League champions have seen a lot of success from letting players leave for loan spells in the Championship and abroad over the years, and Moyes believes the system has gone a long way to improving the team’s youngsters.

Young striker Angelo Henriquez has already made a big impression at Real Zaragoza by bagging a hat trick last weekend, whilst Jesse Lingard opened up his account with Birmingham City in spectacular style by notching four goals on his debut.

Another of the club’s starlets, Nick Powell, also capped a fine week at Wigan Athletic by starring in their 2-1 win over local rivals Blackburn Rovers at the DW Stadium, just a few days after bagging his first goal in the Europa League win over Maribor.

And Moyes has insisted that these players will all get the chance to prove themselves at Old Trafford upon their return.

“It tells you about the back-up players we’ve got in the squad that we can allow these players to go on loan,” explained Moyes.

“And they are doing well at their respective clubs.

“We have got a really good squad of players and there is a lot of competition for places.

“I’m delighted to see Nick, Jesse and Federico getting goals.

“It shows they are doing well, especially the young ones, as we’re trying to give them games and get them more practice so they are ready for the real big league when their time comes.”
