Spanish giants Real Madrid are eyeing up a £15m move for Chelsea midfield player Ramires when the winter transfer window finally opens for business for the year in January, according to reports in the Metro.

The Brazil international has been at Stamford Bridge for the past four seasons now, with Ramires having originally arrived at the west London club from Portuguese outfit Benfica in August 2010 on a four-year deal for a fee of 22m euros.

And it was the now Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti who was the man who signed Ramires for the Blues three years ago, with the midfield player having since gone on to register an impressive 26 goals and 14 assists in total in his 160 matches in all competitions for the club, including 12 goals and eight assists in his 101 Premier League outings.

As a result of that eye-catching form in the capital, the 26-year-old has now become a top target for los Blancos for the new year, as Ancelotti looks to bring a world-class box-to-box midfield player to the Santiago Bernabeu to help with his team’s struggles in attack in the Spanish capital at present, particularly in the absence of Spain international holding midfield player Xabi Alonso through injury since the start of the campaign.
