Real Madrid are readying a £15m bid for Chelsea midfielder Ramires according to the Metro.

Such an offer would surely be dismissed out of hand given the fact that the Brazilian is not only a pivotal member of Jose Mourinho’s squad but also because in today’s transfer market such a valuation is nothing short of insulting.

Former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti, now in charge of Real Madrid, signed Ramires during his stint at Stamford Bridge in a move that cost the West London club just under £20m back in August 2010 and clearly his price-tag would only have increased in the intervening period.

Ancelotti appearently sees 26 year old Ramires as a long term replacement for Xabi Alonso, with doubts growing over his long term fitnes.

Real Madrid spent big in the summer but president Florentino Perez is ready to offer funds to Italian Ancelotti who will look to lure 26 year old Ramires to join the Spanish giants, a move Jose Mourinho will fight tooth and nail to prevent.

Ramires has already racked up 160 appearances for Chelsea and is a key member of the Blues squad, the scorer of crucial goals and an adaptable performer who played a crucial role in the West London club’s Champions League and Europa League triumphs.
