Pellegrini keen on reunion with Caballero.

Check in to West Ham United vs Manchester City

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini could look to his old club Malaga this January as he seeks a replacement for the out-of-form Joe Hart, according to talkSPORT.

City’s ‘keeper has made some high-profile individual errors in goal for Pellegrini’s side this season, and didn’t enjoy the best run of form last year either, leading some to question his future at the club.

This has seen City linked with the likes of Iker Casillas and Asmir Begovic in recent months, though it now seems likely that the 2012 Premier League champions could step up their interest in Malaga’s Willy Caballero.

The 32-year-old Argentine joined Malaga in 2011 and has been a highly impressive performer for the side, working well under Pellegrini’s management in his time at the Spanish club.

Although he may only be a short-term option for City, he currently looks a more reliable option for the club than the struggling Hart, whose best form may be behind him after an apparent drop in confidence.

Caballero has previously revealed that Pellegrini tried signing him during the summer, though a move never materialised, but it is not surprising to see rumours surfacing again after Hart’s performances this season.
