United eyeing impressive Chilean international.
Manchester United are weighing up a bid for Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez this January after being impressed by his early-season form, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Chilean initially struggled to settle at the Nou Camp since joining from Udinese in 2011, when he had also been a target for United and several other big clubs.
However, the 24-year-old has shown some improvement in form this season, and this has led David Moyes to add him to his list of January transfer targets, as the Scot remains unconvinced by his current options in the wide areas.
The likes of Nani, Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia have all under-performed for much of the last year, and the latter two could even be on their way out of Old Trafford when the transfer window re-opens.
This could give United extra money to spend as they look to strengthen their squad for an improved title challenge, with a difficult summer being followed up by some indifferent form in the Premier League.
It is thought that Sanchez could be available for around £22m, and his ability to both score and create from either flank will certainly appeal to United as they look to improve the service currently on offer to strike pair Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie.
