Pardew closing in on exciting loan signing.
Newcastle look the favourites to beat a host of clubs to the loan signing of Manchester United youngster Wilfried Zaha this January, according to the Daily Star.
The 20-year-old is widely regarded as one of England’s best up-and-coming talents, though he hasn’t managed to make an impact at Old Trafford this season since arriving from Crystal Palace in the summer.
With a great deal of competition for places at United, Zaha has been forced to watch from the bench so far this year, and manager David Moyes seems ready to send him out on loan to continue his development.
Moyes had reportedly turned down loan offers for the England international in the summer, with Zaha’s former club Crystal Palace keen on re-signing him for the season, though the Red Devils boss has now decided that the young attacker does not feature in his plans for the moment.
Newcastle have been keen to add quality to the wide areas this January, having also been linked with a move for Blackpool starlet Tom Ince, though the cheaper option of a loan move may be more appealing to manager Alan Pardew.
The likes of Stoke, Southampton and Fulham are also interested in Zaha, but St James’ Park seems his most likely destination.
