Stamford Bridge attacker on Bundesliga radar.
Bundesliga side Wolfsburg have confirmed their interest in signing Chelsea youngster Kevin de Bruyne according to Sports Direct News.
The 22 year old Belgian international spent last season on loan at Werder Bremen, enjoying a fine campaign and finishing his time with a total of ten goals and nine assists from his 33 starts. A return to the German top tier may well interest in the attack minded midfielder.
Jose Mourinho had initially shown faith in De Bruyne but having failed to impress the starlet has managed just two starts in the Blues opening seven Premier League fixtures.
Werder Bremen general manager Klaus Allofs stated his interest in De Bruyne in an interview with Sky Deutschland:
“We, as a club, have given our signal of interest in the services of Kevin De Bruyne.
“This was done over the summer when it became obvious that he would be returning to Chelsea.
“Kevin De Bruyne is no first-team regular at this point in time. We will definitely consider what is going on with him.”
Mourinho may well be open to allowing De Bruyne to be loaned out to Wolfsburg and could perhaps even be open to an outright sale if he feels the player isn’t of sufficient quality to be a more prominent member of his Chelsea squad.
