Fenerbahce coach Ersun Yanal has confirmed that he is a fan of Paris Saint Germain midfielder Javier Pastore and would like to bring him into the club, Sky Sports reports.

The Argentina international has struggled to replicate the good form that prompted the club’s Qatari owners to make him one of their first big money signings when he joined from Palermo for a fee of £39.8m.

He has seen regular playing time throughout his two seasons with the club, helping them to the Ligue 1 title in 2012/13, but has often seen his future called into question.

Premier League side Liverpool had been keen on bringing to England, whilst AC Milan had hoped to be able to convince him to make a return to Serie A.

However, it is now Turkish side Fenerbahce who are hoping to jump to the front of the queue by putting a deal in place for the 24-year-old in the January transfer window.

Yanal told Turkish daily Fotomac: “I asked to arrange an appointment in Paris to discuss the direction of PSG.

“Fenerbahce want to move forward with a real number 10.”

Pastore has racked up 94 appearances for PSG, scoring 24 goals and creating 16 assists in the process too.
