Turkish giants could pounce for in-demand striker.Galatasaray manager Roberto Mancini is reportedly plotting an audacious swoop for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema if Burak Yilmaz leaves the club for Chelsea, according to Inside Futbol.
The Turks have managed to bring in some big-name players to the club in recent times, with Didier Drogba and Wesley Sneijder both joining last January, and Benzema is now said to be the latest ambitious target of theirs as they face the possible exit of one of their best players.
Having attracted a great deal of attention during the summer following a fine season in front of goal, Yilmaz continues to be linked with a move to bigger clubs, with Chelsea thought to be leading the chase for him at the moment.
However, the Blues may be unsuccessful in their attempts to offer Demba Ba in exchange for Yilmaz, as Mancini hopes to be able to bring in Benzema instead after his future at the Bernabeu has become increasingly uncertain.
Arsenal are also monitoring the Frenchman’s situation as he seems set for the transfer list this January after hitting something of a poor spell for the Spanish giants, and with Luis Suarez of Liverpool eyed up as his replacement.
