Turin based side set sights on Villa Park ace.
Juventus boss Antonio Conte is reportedly readying a January bid for Aston Villa forward Christian Benteke according to Italian source TuttoSport.
The Serie A title holders have seen the likes of Napoli and AS Roma throw down the gauntlet to the Turin based side with excellent starts to the campaign and offering a real challenge to Juventus’s superiority and as such Conte may feel his side needs more of a goal threat.
This need for an extra striker may well leave Spaniard Fernando Llorente wondering about his future, with the former Athletic Bilbao man struggling to make an impact since moving to Juventus in the summer. Former Man City man Carlos Tevez on the other hand has had no such issues, scoring three goals in his first six Serie A starts.
Benteke has proven a huge success since leaving his native Belgium for Aston Villa, his 19 Premier League goals last term proving crucial to the club’s survival in the top tier. Thus far this term the powerful forward has managed five goals in six matches in all competitions.
This source claims that Aston Villa value the 22 year old at €20m (£17m) and that’s a price that Juventus would do well to fork out for one of the hottest prospects in European football.
