Arsenal could make another raid for an up-and-coming star of German football this January with a move for Borussia Monchengladbach winger Patrick Herrmann, according to talkSPORT.

The 22-year-old is a highly promising attacking player and has been a regular for his club since the 2009/10 season, and Arsene Wenger is hoping to add the German Under-21 international to his growing German contingent at the Emirates Stadium.

Having signed Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid during the summer, Wenger is ready to keep spending on top talent this January and could make a bid of around £13m for this exciting Bundesliga youngster, who is also attracting interest from Juventus.

Arsenal’s north London rivals Tottenham have also been linked with Herrmann in the past, and he certainly looks like a top player who could adjust well to the demands of the Premier League.

The Gunners already have plenty of quality options in the wide positions, though the signing of Herrmann could perhaps see the likes of Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott move upfront and aid the club with their lack of depth in that department, though a number of big-name strikers have also been linked as targets for Wenger this January.
