Bundesliga side expected mammoth Nou Camp bid.
Borussia Dortmund are reportedly ready to accept an offer from Barcelona for highly rated centre-back Mats Hummels according to German source Bild.
The Bundesliga side are set to receive an offer of €35m (£30m) for the 24 year old German international, who is seen by the Catalan side as a long term replacement for veteran Carles Puyol.
Jurgen Klopp has apparently already identified FC Basel’s Fabian Schar as a replacement for Hummels, who has been a rock solid performer for Borussia Dortmund alongside Serb Neven Subotic.
Hummels left Bayern Munich for Borussia Dortmund back in January 2008, initially on loan, and has helped Klopp’s side to two domestic titles and played a big part in helping the Westfalenstadion side to the Champions League final last term.
For a side of Barcelona’s stature the La Liga club possess an alarmingly low number of effective central defensive options. The likes of Javier Mascherano and Alex Song are frequently used as stop gaps in that area and the signing of Hummels would go a long way to addressing a potential area of weakness in Gerardo Martino’s squad.
Hummels has made 197 appearances for Borussia Dortmund and has 26 national team caps to his name.
