The race to sign highly rated Malmo midfielder Jiloan Hamad is hotting up as four German sides are now believed to be vying for his signature alongside a trio of Premier League clubs, the Daily Star reports.

The 22-year-old has already attracted the attention of the likes of Fulham, Norwich City and West Ham United and they have now been joined by Borussia Monchengladbach, Freiburg, Hannover and Hoffenheim, who all hope to gazump each other to land him.

Hamad has enjoyed a fine season with Malmo, where his excellent performances have put the club on the cusp of winning the Allsvenskan title and securing a place in next season’s Champions League.

Hamad’s agent, Ferhat Cifci, earlier this month confirmed the interest in his client from the Premier League, but according to reports in Sweden the four Bundesliga clubs have now entered the race.

Cifci had previously stated that a move to the Premier League had been top of Hamad’s agenda, but in light of the new interest from the German top flight he is now said to be considering his options before speaking about where he may or may not end up.

His representatives held talks with West Ham over a potential move to Upton Park in the summer, but no agreement was reached over a transfer.
