Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham reportedly sent scouts to watch highly-rated 16-year-old midfielder Youri Tielemans play for the Belgium Under-21s on Monday night, according to the Daily Mail.

Tielemans is rated as one of the next big things to come out of Belgian football, with much of the world’s best young talent recently emerging from the country as well, such as Chelsea quartet Romelu Lukaku, Eden Hazard, Thibaut Courtois and Kevin De Bruyne, as well as several others currently playing in the Premier League.

With so much potential in the developing players in Belgian football, it is no surprise to see the big boys of English football looking to snap them up while they’re still young, and may eye a January move for Tielemans on the cheap.

There were a number of other exciting players on show, such as Thorgan Hazard, the younger brother of Eden, and Jordan Lukaku, the younger brother of Romelu, also a club team-mate of Tielemans’ at Anderlecht.

But it is understood that the teenage attacker was the main focus of interest from the Premier League scouts, and they will have been keen to assess his performance as he came on as a substitute in the second half of the match against Italy.
