Veteran Germany striker Miroslav Klose is hoping to join a Premier League team when his current contract with Serie A giants Lazio expires at the end of the season, according to the Daily Express.

The 35-year-old has enjoyed a highly successful career at club and international level, earning a reputation as one of the deadliest finishers in the game, and is still going strong in the twilight years of his career.

Having spent much of his career in the Bundesliga with the likes of Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen, Klose is now keen to sample English football after a three-year spell in Italy with Lazio.

There is currently a strong contingent of German players in the Premier League, with many of them currently playing at Arsenal, and Klose is keen to join the likes of Mesut Ozil, Lukas Podolski, Per Mertesacker and Chelsea star Andre Schurrle in England.

However, he is also rumoured to be a target for Spanish giants Barcelona, who have been linked with a number of surprising targets in recent weeks, including other veteran forwards such as David Trezeguet and Roque Santa Cruz.

Still, Klose would likely have a number of interested clubs to choose from in the Premier League as well when his contract with Lazio expires next summer.
