White Hart Lane side ready to offer Italian bumper deal.
Tottenham are pushing on with their move to land Juventus veteran Andrea Pirlo with Sports Direct News reporting that the North London side are ready to offer the Italian international a very lucrative contract.
Despite the former AC Milan man being 34 years of age Andre Villas-Boas is open to offering Pirlo a three year contract worth over £12m in order to lure the cultured midfielder to White Hart Lane.
Pirlo is into his final year of a Juventus deal that may well not be renewed by boss Antonio Conte, who is looking to build for the future and a move to the Premier League may be the type of fresh challenge the World Cup winning star would be open to considering.
Chelsea and Real Madrid are also said to be keen on Pirlo who spent ten seasons at the San Siro before moving to Juventus in the summer of 2011.
Pirlo has proven a massive success in Turin making 93 appearances for Juventus and helping the Bianconeri to back to back Serie A titles in the process.
One would have to wonder though just where Pirlo would fit into Villas-Boas’s plans given the sheer number of central midfield options the Portuguese boss has in his armoury. The Tottenham boss can call upon Paulinho, Etienne Capoue, Lewis Holtby, Moussa Dembele, Christian Eriksen and Sandro to fill spots in his starting eleven.
