In-demand midfielder admits Real move would be ‘great’.

Juventus midfielder and Manchester United target Arturo Vidal has hinted that he would be interested in playing for Real Madrid, according to Forza Italian Football.

The Chilean international has been one of Juve’s most impressive performers in recent seasons and his fine form has seen him attract big interest from the likes of United and Real in particular, though he has previously stated a desire to remain in Turin.

United had been linked with a host of similar midfield players during the summer transfer window as David Moyes looked to boost his side’s options in that position, though he was one of several targets that the Scot missed out on.

And the Red Devils boss could now face further competition for Vidal if he pursues him again this January, with the 26-year-old seemingly stating his preference to play for Los Blancos at some point in the future.

Real Madrid have also been on the lookout for new midfield players recently, with Sami Khedira and Xabi Alonso possibly looking like leaving the club in January. Manager Carlo Ancelotti has looked at signing Ramires from Chelsea, though he is also said to be a fan of Vidal.

“Playing for Real Madrid would be great, let’s see what happens,” the Juve star is quoted as saying.

Vidal first moved to the Serie A giants from Bayer Leverkusen in 2011, and has won two league titles with the club.
