Baggies boss keen to keep Irishman at the Hawthorns.
West Brom manager Steve Clarke says he has no plans to send Republic of Ireland striker Shane Long out on loan after Nottingham Forest were said to have made a bid, according to Sports Direct News.
The 26-year-old has not nailed down a regular starting place for the Baggies this season due to the arrivals of several attacking players during the summer, but Clarke insists he remains in his plans.
Nottingham Forest had hoped to bring him in on a temporary basis as they chase promotion from the Championship, but look to have failed in their efforts.
“Shane won’t go to a Championship club on loan,” Clarke said.
“He’s a Premier League player and has a big part to play here.”
