Anfield side want Hannover custodian.

Check in to Liverpool vs West Bromwich Albion

Liverpool are set to join the race to sign highly rated German keeper Ron-Robert Zieler according to the Daily Express.

Bundesliga sides Schalke and Borussia Monchengladbach are both said to be keen on the 24 year old custodian, who started his career at Man United, and now Brendan Rodgers is said to be keeping tabs on the consistent performer who has a £7m release clause that could be triggered in January.

Interest in Zieler is growing and Hannover seem keen to talk up the possibility of a player sale with sporting director Dirk Dufner stating;

“I am sure that other clubs are interested in him.

“And if an offer comes in, Ron should definitely think about it. That’s part of being an intelligent player.

“If he decides to stay with us, so much the better.”

One would have to wonder why Brendan Rodgers would be looking to sign another keeper giving the great form shown by summer signing Simon Mignolet, with the former Sunderland man putting in a series of fine displays which have led to the Anfield side conceding just seven goals in the club’s opening eight Premier League fixtures of the season.
