Man United are reportedly monitoring Real Madrid’s new signing Gareth Bale ahead of a possible summer bid for the £85m signing according to the Sunday Times.

Bale has already begun to feel the back-lash from portions of the Spanish media who have not only questioned the massive fee Real Madrid paid Tottenham for the Welsh international but have also lambasted the 24 year old’s opening displays for the La Liga giants.

This source claims that Man United believe they could lure Bale back to the Premier League at the end of the season with the Old Trafford side having failed with a concerted effort to sign the winger over the summer.

Man United were willing to match the fee Real Madrid paid for Bale but missed out as the former Southampton man opted to move to Spain.

David Moyes has seen his Man United side struggle for form and the former Everton boss managed just one high profile signing in the form of Marouane Fellaini and could well look to re-ignite his interest in Bale.

It would be quite some shock if Real Madrid was ready to cut their losses on Bale quite so swiftly given the scale of the world record capture as any sale would be an admission of defeat on their part even if they were offered a fee similar to the one they spent on the attacker.

Moyes has seen wingers Nani, Luis Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young all struggle for form and the Scot is yet to hand Wilfried Zaha a single minute of Premier League action so there is certainly scope for another wide attacking addition.
