Premier League champions Manchester United are keen on signing highly rated AS Roma midfield player Miralem Pjanic when the winter transfer window finally opens again for business in the new year, according to reports in the Daily Express.

The in-form Bosnia and Herzegovina international has been attracting the attentions of a whole host of big-name clubs from across the Continent of late after turning in a number of eye-catching displays for the Serie A high flyers so far in this campaign.

In particular, Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur tried to lure Pjanic to White Hart Lane during the recent summer transfer window, only for Roma to refuse to allow their star man to leave the Italian capital.

However, with the 23-year-old’s current contract at the Stadio Olimpico set to expire on June 30 2015 and with Pjanic having so far steadfastly refused to pen to paper on a new deal to remain with the Romans beyond that date, it is now understood that the Giallorossi are preparing to offload the Bosnian at the turn of the year.

And that new development has put the Red Devils on alert, with new head coach David Moyes said to be preparing a £25 million offer for Pjanic in order to tempt his employers to part company with the playmaker in January.
