Mark Hughes wants to bring Etihad Stadium defender to the Britannia.
Mark Hughes is planning a move to sign Man City defender Joleon Lescott as he seeks to strengthen his Britannia Stadium defence according to Sports Direct News.
The 31 year old is out of contract at the end of the season and as such is unlikely to cost the Potters a great deal and the England international may feel that a move to Stoke City, which should lead to regular first team football, could better help his chances of making it into Roy Hodgson’s World Cup squad.
Lescott is behind Vicent Kompany and young Serbian defender Matija Nastasic in Manuel Pellegrini’s pecking order and Hughes is keen to be reunited with the player he brought to the Etihad Stadium back in August 2009 though it’s unlikely he will garner a wage anywhere near the current £90k a week deal he earns.
Joleon Lescott has made a total of 141 appearances for Man City following his £22m move to the club from Everton.
