Arsenal are reportedly ready to launch a €30m (£25.7m) bid for Fiorentina attacker Juan Guillermo Cuadrado according to Italian source Gazzetta dello Sport.

Arsene Wenger did of course elect to smash the Gunners transfer record to bring in German international Mesut Ozil in a £42.5m deal over the summer but it would be something of a surprise if the Arsenal manager was willing to fork out the sum quoted for a player, who though in a good run of form, lacks true top level experience.

Cuadrado moved to Fiorentina over the summer after a successful season long loan spell and is now a regular in Vincenzo Montella’s first team set-up and a player the Serie A side would not be keen on losing.

Arsene Wenger could be keen to strengthen his wide attacking options given injury concerns over both Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott and also taking into account the sale of Gervinho to AS Roma over the summer.

Wenger will no doubt be handed a decent cash injection in order to bring in January additions as Arsenal look to end a lengthy silverware drought though he may look to secure a deal for Cuadrado for a price lower than the one quoted by this source.
