Mourinho not looking for Balotelli reunion.

Premier League giants Chelsea are unlikely to sign AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli when the winter transfer window finally opens again for business in the new year, despite the west London club being in desperate need of more firepower in attack at Stamford Bridge, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

Rumours that the mercurial striker was set to be reunited once again with Blues head coach Jose Mourinho began to circulate after Balotelli’s agent gave an interview on Italian TV claiming his client may be about to move to the west London club.

“Balotelli and Mourinho could be reunited because they know each other and they didn’t leave each other with hate,” said Mino Raiola.

However, it is understood that in spite of Raiola’s recent comments, and the Europa League holders’ desire to sign a new forward in January, that Balotelli is not one of the club’s main targets.

It is widely known that the pair did not see eye to eye during their two years working together at San Siro, with the Portuguese coach even stating at one point that Balotelli was “unmanageable”.

And despite the 23-year-old’s fine form in front of goal since joining the Rossoneri from Manchester City in January, it is expected that Mourinho will look elsewhere for a new striker in the next window.
