Borussia Dortmund look set to make a £6m bid to keep on-loan Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin on a permanent deal, according to Inside Futbol.
The Bundesliga giants currently have the Turkish international on loan for the season, and he has impressed with his performances for Jurgen Klopp’s side after a difficult time in Spain.
The 25-year-old started his career with Dortmund before leaving the club for a move to Real in 2011, though he failed to nail down a regular first-team place with the Bernabeu club, and later moved on loan to Liverpool.
However, his stay in the Premier League was short-lived, as he spent just half a season at Anfield after some disappointing displays, before returning to his old club Dortmund on loan again.
Sahin now appears to be back to his best in Germany, and the club will look to meet Real Madrid’s £6m asking price to keep him on a permanent basis.
The midfielder could be a useful addition if the likes of Ilkay Gundogan and Marco Reus leave the club in January, and the pair continue to be linked with several of Europe’s leading clubs.
Sahin has made just ten appearances in total for Real Madrid.
