Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has insisted that the club’s cross city rivals Manchester United are ‘really struggling’ to keep up with the race for the Premier League title this season, according to ClubCall.

New United boss David Moyes has struggled to get the side to display their best form that saw them romp home to the title last season and has come in for criticism since taking over from Sir Alex Ferguson as they have stuttered for the first time in over 20 years.

Despite their poor form Moyes still believes that he is the man to turn their slump around as they currently sit eight points behind Arsenal in the table, and City star Toure is insisting that they will struggle badly to catch up as the season won’t be getting any easier.

“United will find it hard to defend the title since they have a new manager and are really struggling,” he said.

The Ivory Coast international also feels that there are other teams in the Premier League looking stronger at the moment, with the 30-year-old pointing to Liverpool in particular as a genuine threat in the title race.

“Liverpool are a big threat at the moment because they have a strong squad and their strikers – Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge – are scoring goals at will,” he added.

City thumped United 4-1 earlier this season and Toure thinks that their title ambitions will soon be out of the window.
