Check in to Hull City vs Sunderland

New Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is set to loan out young striker Connor Wickham to help him find some semblance of form, Sky Sports reports.

Poyet is already looking at changes he can make to his newly inherited squad and has already agreed a deal in principle with Nottingham Forest to loan them midfielder David Vaughan.

And now the England under-21 striker has been added as the next name on the loan list and will head out as soon as a destination has been found for him.

It is believed that at least half a dozen clubs in the Championship are sizing him up, and Sunderland are now weighing up their options after several have sought to make contact already.

Poyet is known to be hoping that Wickham can get a regular run of games, but feels that he is still too raw to be starting regularly at the Stadium of Light just yet, and who he joins will depend on who can offer him a regular spot in their starting line up.

Wickham has featured just once for the Black Cats this season after he spent the bulk of the previous campaign with Sheffield Wednesday.
