When Arsenal host Liverpool on Saturday evening they will could well do so against two players that Arsene Wenger is thought to be actively pursuing.

ESPN claim that Arsene Wenger is still interested in Uruguayan international Luis Suarez having failed with multiple summer bids for the 26 year old striker.

Suarez has returned from his ten match biting ban with a bang, netting six goals in four appearances, and is still seen by Wenger as the man to beef up an Arsenal attack that is currently overly dependent on Olivier Giroud.

The North London club are also ready to offer benched defender Daniel Agger an escape route from the Anfield side according to the Daily Telegraph.

The Danish international has been left on the bench for Liverpool’s last two Premier League fixtures, against West Brom and Newcastle United, and could well be considering his future at the Merseyside club and interest from Premier League table toppers Arsenal could tempt the 28 year old.

Arsene Wenger has put his faith in Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny as his first choice central defensive pairing, with Thomas Vermaelen being frozen out of the Arsenal starting eleven, though the French boss may see Agger as a player to help further strengthen his defence.
