Premier League giants Chelsea have no intention whatsoever of allowing key midfield player Juan Mata to depart Stamford Bridge for Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain when the winter transfer window opens again for business in the new year, according to exclusive reports in the Daily Express.

The in-demand Spain international’s future with the west London club has been in grave doubt ever since Jose Mourinho returned to manage the Blues from Real Madrid last summer.

The self-styled ‘Special One’ has opted to utilise the likes of Brazil playmaker Oscar and Belgium forward Eden Hazard as Chelsea’s No 10 for the majority of the season so far, with Mata instead being restricted to just the nine appearances in total in all competitions under Mourionho, only five of which have come in the Premier League.

And with the 25-year-old having only scored his first goal of the new campaign against arch-rivals Arsenal in the Capital One Cup fourth round at the Emirates on Tuesday night, speculation has been mounting that Mata would be on his way out of the Uefa Europa League holders come the turn of the year.

However, despite PSG understood to be preparing a £30 million offer for the Spaniard in January, it is believed that ‘Mou’ has no plans to offload Mata to the Parisians, with a source being quoted as saying: “At the moment, Chelsea do not want to sell Mata, even if the offer is right.”
