Emirates Stadium side target box to box midfielder.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will seek to add another German to his Emirates Stadium squad as he target Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan according to the Daily Star.
Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp may well be concerned about interest in the 23 year old, who is also on Barcelona’s radar, having seen the likes of Mario Gotze and Shinji Kagawa leave in recent seasons and with striker Robert Lewandowski said to be likely to make a summer exit when his contract comes to a close.
Gundogan is valued at £25m, a fee that Arsenal may well feel is a fair price for a player of undoubted potential and great ability. The box to box performer could add a new dimension to the Gunners midfield and may be keen to unite with national team colleagues Per Mertesacker, Lukas Podolski and Mesut Ozil at the North London club.
The former Nurnberg man is into his third season at Borussia Dortmund and played a pivotal role in the club’s run to the Champions League final last term.
