Liverpool are set to rejuvenate their interest in Dynamo Kiev winger Andriy Yarmolenko when the transfer window reopens in January, according to Insidefutbol.com.

Brendan Rodgers’ men had made tentative enquiries about the 24-year-old over the summer, but failed to follow up their initial interest in the player after being told that he was not for sale.

However, they are now set to try again in the new year as Brendan Rodgers continues to look for quality players to add to the side in order to help them prolong the early season form they’ve shown.

Yarmolenko has drawn a number of admiring glances since breaking through into the Dynamo side back in 2007 as his consistent threat on goal from wide positions has made him a valuable commodity.

Since making his debut he has gone on to score 61 goals in 187 appearances for the side and has often drawn comparisons between himself and club legend Andrei Shevchenko, though the only major similarity between them is the personal success they have both enjoyed whilst in the Ukrainian capital.

He has also earned 36 caps for the Ukraine national side, scoring 13 goals in the process.
