Anfield want Bayer Leverkusen attacker.

Check in to Liverpool vs Fulham

Liverpool have set their sights on highly rated German winger Sidney Sam according to TuttoMercatoWeb.

Brendan Rodgers is said to be interest in the 25 year old Bayer Leverkusen attacker who has racked up seven goals and four assists in 11 Bundesliga appearances thus far this season, helping Sami Hyypiä’s side to keep up with leading pair Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

Sam’s hot run of form has led to a call-up to the German national team set-up and it’s likely that the former Hamburg man will be part of Joachim Low’s 2014 World Cup finals squad.

Rodgers could feel his side would benefit from fresh attacking options though clearly Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez have both been in fine form this term the likes of Iago Aspas and Raheem Sterling have not made all that much of an impact though the Liverpool boss is of course benefiting from the loan capture of Victor Moses from Chelsea he may feel that Sam would be an ideal permanent addition worth considering.

Sam is into his fourth season at Bayer Leverkusen and his potential interest in a move to Liverpool could be swayed by the two club’s respective positions come January.
