Bayern Munich forward Toni Kroos has revealed that he has began talks with the club over extending his current contract at the Alianz Arena, Sky Sports reports.

The German international is already tied to the club until 2015 but both Bayern and Kroos have expressed a desire to extend that deal beyond its current borders.

Kroos believes that he is at the right club to continue his impressive development and has so far been happy with the role he has played under Pep Guardiola.

And though the 23-year-old confessed that he is unsure as to what might happen further down the road, he insisted that for the time being he is more than happy to stay put in Bavaria and hopes that an agreement can be reached soon.

Kroos told Kicker-Sportmagazin: “I am in touch with Bayern Munich regarding a new deal.

“This will get more important as the expiry date in 2015 approaches more and more. There is no infinite amount of time. Everyone knows that.

“I have a basic interest in signing a new contract. If I keep on going like I am, everything will be fine.

“I am not a fan of telling people I will be a player of Bayern Munich in 10 years’ time. So much can happen. Five-year deals can be cancelled after just one season.”
