Stamford Bridge side told to pay inflated price for young Sevilla defender.
Chelsea are reportedly interested in Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno though have been told they would have to pay an astronomical £25m to land the 21 year old according to Sports Direct News.
With Ashley Young being uncharacteristically off form this term, and clearly in the latter stages of his glittering career, Jose Mourinho may well be considering long term replacements for the England man but the price-tag placed on the young Spanish international may well scare off the West London side.
Man United are similarly interested in Moreno, who only made his first team debut in April 2012, who is now a good shot for a spot in Vicente del Bosque’s 2014 World Cup finals squad.
Sevilla have been on something of a fire-sale over the past year and sold Jesus Navas and Alvaro Negredo to Man City whilst Antonio Luna, Luis Alberto, Gary Medel and Jose Campana also completed Premier League moves to Aston Villa, Liverpool, Cardiff City and Crystal Palace respectively.
Chelsea’s current back-up option to Cole, Ryan Bertrand, is unlikely to be seen by Jose Mourinho as an able enough replacement for the veteran Blues star.
