Aston Villa captain Ron Vlaar has insisted that his side’s goal drought will be over sooner rather than later, according to Inside Futbol.

Villa haven’t found the back of the net since their surprise 3-2 victory over Manchester City on September 28, failing to score in the following four games against Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Hull City and West Ham United.

However, Vlaar believes the side’s goal shy exploits have been a result of bad luck and fully expects his teammates to rediscover the path to goal once again very soon with the likes of Gabriel Agbonlahor, Andreas Weimann and Christian Benteke leading the line.

“We have a lot of quality up front. We will score very soon”, Vlaar told his club’s official site.

“Christian was very close at West Ham. He was unlucky with the crossbar and the good save from the goalkeeper. But it will come. I am not worried at all, actually.

“Christian, Gabby and Andi showed they are one of the best strike forces in the Premier League last season – and they will show that again.

“Sometimes it’s just a bit of luck.”

Villa currently sit in 14th place in the Premier League table with 11 points from their opening 10 games.
