‘Mou’ sees no future for the error-prone central defender at the Bridge.

Chelsea are now ready to finally listen to offers for mercurial defender David Luiz when the winter transfer window does open again for business in the new year, with Spanish champions FC Barcelona expected to be leading the chase for the in-demand Brazilian, according to reports in the Mail on Sunday.

There was a mountain of speculation over the summer regarding Luiz’s future at Stamford Bridge, with many experts sure that returning Chelsea head coach Jose Mourinho would offload the central defender, especially when the Catalans came in with two big-money bids for the 26-year-old, the second of which was reportedly worth £35 million.

However, at the time the self-styled ‘Special One’ was understood to be keen to make his own assessments of the centre back, but now just a few months into the new season, Mourinho has finally lost patience with Luiz and is ready to sell the player to the highest bidder come the turn of the year.

The Portuguese dropped Luiz from the west London club’s previous two fixtures after another limp display at the back for Chelsea in their shock 2-0 loss against Newcastle United at St James’ Park in the Premier League last Saturday.

And it is understood that if Barca return with a sizeable offer for the Brazil international in January, then Mourinho will sanction his exit.
