MLS side Toronto FC are readying a move to sign Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o according to CalcioMercato.

The Cameroon international will be out of contract at the end of the current season and depending on how he fares Jose Mourinho may well look to tie down the experienced forward to a new deal, which one would imagine would be more of a pull for the former Inter Milan and Barcelona man.

Eto’o reunited with his former San Siro boss in the summer after a period in Russia with Anzhi and after a sticky start the 32 year old has started to show the sort of form that made him one of the most feared strikers in Europe.

Samuel Eto’o managed just one goal in his opening ten matches but has since scored three in his last two fixtures and is now arguably the club’s most effective striking option.

Toronto FC are clearly looking for something of a figurehead signing and the capture of Eto’o would be quite a coup given the player’s history.

Eto’o has won four domestic titles (three with Barcelona and one with Inter Milan) and is a three time Champions League winner.
