Anfield side want Spanish international.
Liverpool are set to battle Serie A table toppers AS Roma in pursuit of Atletico Madrid striker Adrian Lopez according to Sports Direct News.
25 year old Spanish international Adrian had an excellent first season at the Vicente Calderon, netting 18 goals and helping Atletico Madrid to a Europa League triumph but his second campaign at the club was marred by poor form and contract wrangling.
This term Adrian has very much played third fiddle with Diego Simeone using Diego Costa and David Villa to great affect and now a move away from the Spanish capital seems very likely.
Brendan Rodgers may well be keen to beef up his attacking options in view of the fact that Italian flop Fabio Borini has been loaned out to Sunderland and Iago Aspas’s inability to make an impact since his summer move to Anfield. Whilst clearly the Liverpool boss has been able to rely upon in-form forwards Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez he could see adaptable attacker Adrian as a useful back-up option.
Roma apparently see Adrian as a potential replacement for Pablo Osvaldo, who joined Southampton in August.
