Old Trafford boss David Moyes will send scouts to watch the 27 year old Colombian in international action against Belgium as he considers a move for the former Atletico Madrid man, who only moved to the Stade Louis II side over the summer.

Chelsea are also said to be tracking the powerful forward and that dual interest could well result in the type of bidding war that may persuade the Ligue 1 side to consider their position.

Falcao has started well at AS Monaco, netting nine goals in 13 appearances, but concerns over how the French footballing authorities choose to deal with the fact that one of it’s Ligue 1 sides is situated in a tax haven may lead to a hefty fine being imposed on the club, which in turn may lead to player sales.

David Moyes will apparently be handed a £100m transfer kitty to invest in his under-performing squad and therefore has the funds to make a big offer for Falcao.

The Scot may wish to bring in Falcao to play alongside Robin Van Persie up front with Wayne Rooney then being used in a withdrawn striking role behind the front two, an attack that would surely be considered one of the most feared in European football.
