Arsenal Weigh Up Shock January Move For Former Chelsea Forward

Gunners tried to lure the Ivorian to north London in 2011, only to fail in their attempts.

Premier League leaders Arsenal have been offered the chance to sign Lille front  man Salomon Kalou after the Ligue 1 outfit made the former Chelsea star available to buy when the winter transfer window opens again for business in the new year, according to reports in the Metro.

Arsenal Transfer Rumours

The experienced Ivory Coast international only moved to northern France in July 2012 after leaving the west London club on a free transfer earlier that summer, however, despite enjoying great success since his move to Lille, it is understood that Kalou is desperate to make a return to the Premier League at the turn of the year.

Kalou, 28, has managed to record an impressive 19 goals and eight assists in total in just 47 matches in all competitions for his new team, including 17 strikes and seven assists in his 37 league outings for the club.

And now it is believed that the north London club are pondering the chance to finally sign the Ivorian, two years after Gunners head coach Arsene Wenger first tried to land the striker, only to then fail to persuade Kalou to make the move to the Emirates after the player refused to take a pay cut while still with the Blues.
