Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini has set his sights on experienced QPR keeper Julio Cesar as he continues to pursue a custodian signing in view of the poor form displayed by dropped England man Joe Hart.

The Telegraph claim the Etihad Stadium side will make an offer for the 34 year old Brazilian, who has been frozen out of first team affairs at Loftus Road.

Cesar moved to QPR in August 2012 and put in some decent displays despite the West London club’s relegation to the Championship but has not been selected by Harry Redknapp this season.

Prior to his move to QPR Cesar spent seven successful seasons at Inter Milan, helping the San Siro side to five Serie A titles and a Champions League success and a move back to the top flight will no doubt interest the Super Hoops star.

A move to Man City would also help to cement his spot in Felipe Scolari’s national team set-up ahead of the 2014 World Cup finals.

Joe Hart has been dropped by Pellegrini after a succession of poor displays with giant Romanian Costel Pantilimon taking his spot in the Man City starting eleven in recent weeks.
