This source suggests that David Moyes has once again got his sights set on Goodison Park talent having already brought in Marouane Fellaini and seemingly also keen on Leighton Baines, a move for 31 year old Jagielka is certainly something of a surprise.
There are certainly concerns about Nemanja Vidic’s long term future given the injury problems the Serbian has suffered in recent seasons and Rio Ferdinand is clearly in the latter stages of his glittering career, though a move for a defender over the age of 30 doesn’t appear to make a great deal of sense.
That isn’t to say that Jagielka isn’t a quality performer but given that Moyes can currently call upon the likes of Jonny Evans, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones as potential central defensive options it would be a tad surprising if the Man United boss targeted a player a great deal older than those he could currently select from.
Jagielka, who is into his seventh season at Eveton, however may well jump at the chance of a fresh challenge,
