Paraguayan attacking starlet is rated highly in Catalunya.
Premier League outfits Arsenal and Liverpool are both hoping to be able to convince young FC Barcelona prodigy Toni Sanabria to quit the Spanish champions and move to the top flight at the end of this season, according to reports in the Daily Star.
The Paraguay international has really been catching the eye for the Barca ‘B’ team so far in this campaign, so much so that both the Merseyside giants and the north London club are keen to land Sanabria next summer.
And the advantage that the two Premier League sides have over the Catalans is that unlike in La Liga, the top-flight duo can offer the 17-year-old a professional contract now, whereas in Spain clubs must wait until a player reaches the age of 18 before doing so.
As a result, there is now a genuine fear at Camp Nou that the exciting forward, described as the “jewel of the Barcelona academy”, will follow may other starlets by quitting the club to move to the riches on offer in the Premier League.
Liverpool, for example, have lured Sergi Canos to Anfield, while Arsenal have enticed the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Fran Merida, Hector Bellerin and Jon Toral all to the capital in the past.
