Chelsea On Alert As Radamel Falcao Opts To Quit Monaco In January After Growing Disillusioned With Life in France

South American attacker and Blues boss Jose Mourinho both share the same representative, super-agent Jorge Mendes.

Prolific AS Monaco front man Radamel Falcao is understood to be so unhappy with life in the South of France at present that the Colombian wants to quit the mega-rich Ligue 1 outfit as soon as the winter transfer window opens again for business in the new year, with a whole host of big-name clubs lining up to sign the player according to reports in the Daily Mail.

The in-demand striker only moved to the newly promoted Ligue 1 outfit last summer from La Liga side Atletico de Madrid on a lucrative five-year contract worth a staggering £12 million per year tax free for a whopping £60m transfer fee.

However, if recent reports are to be believed, then Falcao has already grown disillusioned with his life at Monaco and the standard of football in the uncompetitive French top flight.

Meanwhile, the 27-year-old is also said to be discouraged by news that the French government could soon be set to include the Principality of Monaco in their recently imposed country-wide 75 per cent tax rate on the nation’s highest earners.

All of which has put Premier League giants Chelsea on alert, especially with the west London club believed to be desperate to bring a new top-level forward to Stamford Bridge in January.
