Liverpool have reportedly offered their star striker Luis Suarez to Real Madrid in an effort to avoid seeing the Uruguayan join Premier League rivals Arsenal according to the Daily Star.

The 26 year old goal machine apparently came close to joining the Spanish giants over the summer and that terms were all but agreed and now a move to join the La Liga side is back on the table.

Carlo Ancelotti is keen to bring in Suarez to act as his lead striker, to play at part of a mouthwatering front three with Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, and his chances of pulling off such a deal would appear to have grown as the Merseyside want to avoid the prospect of their star striker joining Arsenal.

Suarez still harbours ambitions of playing Champions League football as well as being able to challenge for major honours and despite Liverpool’s strong start to the season it appears such ambitions may well be realised elsewhere.

Luis Suarez has been in excellent form since returning from his lengthy ban, received after biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, scoring eight goals in six Premier League fixtures.

Presumably Brendan Rodgers would look to invest any funds from the sale to replace Suarez though he can at least depend on England man Daniel Sturridge to bang in the goals though question marks still hang over the likes of Iago Aspas and loaned out Italian Fabio Borini.
