Race hots up for Sevilla midfielder.
Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are set to rival Liverpool for in form Sevilla midfielder Ivan Rakitic as they plan for life without Koke, who is a target for Manchester United, according to Sports Direct News.
The Croatian midfielder has been in fine form for the Andalusian side this season, bagging nine goals in 18 games so far and displaying a fine eye for a pass as well as maintaining a high level of consistency during the early stages of the campaign.
And his form has not gone unnoticed as Liverpool were rumoured to be very interested in landing his signature, whilst Manchester United have also been rumoured to be taking a closer look at him as they continue their own search for a creative spark in the midfield.
However, United have also identified Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke as a possible target and the capital club are reportedly more than worried about what his future may hold and have preempted his departure by drawing up a shortlist of replacements already and are garnering their own interest in Rakitic.
Sevilla lost several key players over the summer, including Alvaro Negredo, Jesus Navas and Geoffrey Kondogbia, and despite Rakitic’s best efforts he has not been able to help the club gain better results and could be tempted by the thought of a move elsewhere.
